Prof. Anne Duncan will be giving an address titled: “Commanding Performances.”

Anne Duncan is Associate Professor in the department of Classics and Religious Studies at University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She received her PhD in Classical Studies at University of Pennsylvania and has published on various aspects of ancient performance and gender. Her first book, Performance and Identity in the Classical World, is of great value to performance studies and she is currently working both on a textbook for Cambridge University Press, Roman Spectacle, and on another project, Command Performance: Tyranny and Theater in the Ancient World.
